Bukit Timah is located in the northern district of Batang Layang in the city of Bukit Batang, Singapore. The park is made from an old disused quarries. As such, it resembles the huge granite rocks found in Guilin, China. Hence, it is called Little Guilin or Xiao Guilin amongst the Chinese.
The first thing that you will notice while walking around the park is the lack of trees. This gives the fresh air, it is famous for. Since Singapore is located on the coast, the fresh air cannot get too far. It can however be enjoyed by walking along the beach and into the forests that surround the park.

You may want to check out the Bukit Timah National Park which has its own Jeep safari. Here you will be lead through the park and have a chance to view the wildlife within the park. Bukit Timah also has an amusement park known as the Bukit Timah Wetland Park, which is ideal for children to get excited about.
One thing you should not miss here is the Night Safari. Here you can have the chance to help a trained snake guide you through the jungle by following its trail and touch its tail. The Bukit Timah wildlife reserve is home to various wild animals like tigers, monkeys and leopards. These attractions are for more adventurous tourists.
Other than Bukit Timah, there is also another popular destination called Clarke Quay which is a small market town built along the waterside. It also has a small harbor, which is connected by ferries with the help of a tunnel. This harbor has a shabby fishing village on its outskirts.
